About Winch & Plummet
Winch: to hoist or haul. Plummet: to fall or drop at high speed. That is mountain biking in two words, and it is where our name comes from.
Winch & Plummet is an independent UK mountain bike clothing brand, launched in 2021 and based in North Wales. It was started by two riders with over 60 years of combined experience in the sport: one designs the kit, the other sources and supplies quality products to global brands. That mix of design and supply know-how is how we get ideas off the sketch pad and onto the trail.
What we make
MTB clothing for trail, enduro and downhill riding, built for proper British conditions:
- MTB Pro Pants and Pro Shorts: stretch trail trousers and shorts with room for knee pads, laser-cut vents and a ratchet waist.
- MTB jerseys: men’s and women’s, short and long sleeve, including our OiOi collaboration with Ben Deakin.
- Jackets and gilets: a 5,000mm waterproof shell tested in Welsh weather, a recycled softshell and a packable gilet.
- Off the bike: tees, hoodies, caps and accessories.
We also stock brands we rate, including Trailbloom women’s jerseys and Melon eyewear.

Looking after the trails
Our packaging is recyclable, our tees use ethically sourced cotton, and our softshell is made from 100% recycled polyester. We also want to work with trail centres and give something back to the places we ride. If you run a trail centre or bike park and want custom kit, get in touch.
